REMOCLEC was an innovative project aiming to develop an ARM-Based CLEC & IoT Remote Laboratory. Funded by the Smart4All program under the Horizon 2020 initiative, the project was led by LabsLand, in collaboration with the University of Deusto and Plegma Labs. The project focused on creating a remote laboratory platform integrating ARM technology and IoT, offering a novel educational tool for students and educators globally.

The REMOCLEC project's primary objectives included: Development and Design: Constructing a cutting-edge ARM-based remote laboratory, including comprehensive hardware and software design, and prototyping in collaboration with the University of Deusto.Deployment and Testing: Building and deploying initial instances at LabsLand and Deusto, designed to support a large number of students simultaneously. Pilot Implementation: Successfully piloting the project with students at the University of Deusto, focusing on resolving potential issues and confirming the laboratory's effectiveness in meeting educational requirements. Commercialization: Initiating the commercialization phase with Plegma Labs' support, aiming to capture interest from educational institutions and companies.

Key challenges of the REMOCLEC project were:Technical Complexity: Integrating diverse electronic components into a cohesive and functional remote laboratory.Scalability: Ensuring capability to support extensive simultaneous use without performance compromise. User Engagement and Feedback: Conducting effective pilot tests with students to gather essential feedback for enhancements.Market Penetration: Gaining traction in a niche market within a constrained timeframe, with a focus on long-term commercialization strategies.

REMOCLEC's technological and innovative highlights:ARM-Based Remote Labs: Implementing ARM technology to create an efficient remote laboratory environment.IoT Integration: Embedding IoT features to augment the interactive and real-time aspects of the laboratory. Custom Hardware and Software: Developing tailored hardware and software solutions to meet specific educational needs.Global Accessibility: Providing worldwide access to high-quality laboratory experiences, transcending geographical barriers in education.

The primary market focus for REMOCLEC includes: Educational Institutions: With a preliminary focus on universities, REMOCLEC aims to augment their laboratory capabilities, especially beneficial for schools lacking physical infrastructure. Corporate Training: Targeting companies for employee training in the use of specific ARM electronic devices, addressing the need for practical, hands-on learning experiences in a corporate setting. By addressing these markets, REMOCLEC positions itself as a valuable resource in both educational and professional realms. The successful pilot at the University of Deusto stands as a testament to its applicability and effectiveness in a real-world educational environment.
